Prune Mui


A sweet, tangy and locally-inspired side with that will compliment your holiday menu.

Ingredients


  • 2 cup Dried Pitted Prunes

  • 1 cup Dried Apricots

  • 1/2 cup Dried Lemon Peel, cut into pieces

  • 1 cup Li Hing Mui

  • 2 cup Dark Brown Sugar

  • 2 Lemons, Juiced

  • 1 tbsp. Whiskey

  • 1 tbsp. Hawaiian Salt

  • 2 Star Anise

  • 5 Cloves

  • Optional: Dried Cranberries

Instructions


  1. In a large bowl, combine prunes, apricots, lemon peel and li hing mui.

  2. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over fruits and mix thoroughly.

  3. Transfer to a bowl with a sealable cover and let stand for 3-5 days before serving and stir every 12 hours.
